GLASS COLLECTION FOR FIAM
Glass is a particularly unforgiving and finicky medium, but you’d never know that from the innovative work done by the famous Italian glass manufacturer Fiam, which commissioned the Libeskinds to design a collection of mirrors and glass furniture.
The Mirage is a wall mirror with a brill aluminum finish that comes in various geometries and sixes, with customizable options. Its reflective sister, the Mirage TV system, is a gift to anyone tired of the purely functional design of modern television sets, while the Wing mirror, which comes in both oval and trapezoidal versions, is a kind of contemporary take on a baroque form, with its three-dimensionality created by lines of curved glass intersecting the mirror’s surface.
The Slate desk, composed of two thick, curved glass bases with an unattached angular glass top available in both transparent and back-silvered finishes, is designed to be a stylish and futuristic addition to any study.
The project was realized collaboratively with Fiam, Lev Libeskind, Daniel Libeskind, and their respective studios.
